Who is Wide Receiver College For?
It is for mature players only.  Wide Receiver College is for quarterbacks and receivers alike.  If you are a dedicated athlete who spends time off the field thinking about improving and getting to another level of performance, chances are you will love Wide Receiver College. This camp is open for student-athletes who will be in grades 9-12 in the 2006-07 School Year.

A Few Things You Will Learn at WRC.
Wide Receiver College will teach you everything from how to read coverage's to the basics of catching and throwing the football. Receivers will learn the fundamentals of the stance which is vital to master an explosive “get off’ from the line of scrimmage.  Receivers will learn basic and advanced separation techniques on both soft man and tight coverage.

Other skills you will learn   

  • Stance, release, speed, quickness, blocking, techniques for catching the football.

  • Patterns including- hitch, quick out, slant, corner, fly, dig, bubble, post

  • Studying Film, reading coverage's, making the big catch, leadership skills,

  • Tricks of the trade and much more.

Can my quarterback attend?

Quarterbacks are more than welcome to pay the fee and attend the camp.  When receivers are running routes we would love to have your quarterback throwing you the ball and providing feedback.  However, instruction will be provided for receivers and the focus will be on coaching wide receivers. Quarterbacks and receivers are so dependent on one another; a perfect relationship is the key component to an effective passing game. 

What should I bring?

  • Football

  • Football shoes (make sure they are broken in, prevents blisters)

  • Practice T-Shirts

  • Practice Shorts

  • Athletic tape if you require taping

  • Spiral notebook

  • Sunscreen

  • Water Bottle

  • Positive, Enthusiastic, Focused Attitude

The camp program includes:

1. Classroom Learning Sessions
You will need a notebook and a pen to take full advantage of WRC. Once an evening you attend classroom sessions, where you will be expected to listen attentively and ask questions in order to deepen your understanding of the game.

2. Field Time Designed to Reinforce Good Habits
The field sessions are designed to turn the concepts taught in the classroom into productive action on the field. A unique set of drills and teaching situations are used to build physical and mental habits that lead to smart, effective play.

3. Video Analysis
You will study actual game footage to see examples - both good and bad - of every aspect of the game. This in-depth analysis will deepen your understanding of the game and help you learn to watch - and play -football in a more intelligent way.
